Now Hiring AZ Flatbed Driver – Full-Time Position (Mississauga, ON)
We are hiring an AZ Flatbed Driver for a full-time position based in Mississauga, ON. This role requires tarping work and involves transporting goods safely and efficiently.
Job Details:
- Location: 1191 Eglinton Avenue East, Mississauga, ON
- Position: Full-Time AZ Flatbed Driver
- Shift: Morning shifts, 65 hours per week
- Tarping: Mandatory
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate:
- $25/hour (first 3 months)
- $27/hour (after 3 months)
- Travel Time Compensation:
- Up to 30 minutes to/from the United terminal
- Load Securing Time:
- Roll-Tight Trailers: Up to 45 minutes
- Flatbed Trailers: Up to 90 minutes (additional $25 for tarping)
- Per-Stop Pay:
- $27 per stop (no additional hourly pay during stops)
Key Responsibilities:
- Tarping work is mandatory
- Transport goods safely, ensuring on-time deliveries while following safety protocols
- Secure loads using chains, straps, and tarps for cargo stability and protection
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; report maintenance needs
- Route planning using GPS to select the most efficient, truck-accessible routes
- Maintain accurate documentation (logs, mileage, delivery records)
- Follow transportation laws and hours-of-service regulations
- Communicate with dispatch regarding trip status and coordinate with clients
- Assist with unloading as required
- Handle on-road emergencies following company guidelines
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years AZ driving experience (flatbed operations or dry van)
- Valid AZ License with a clean driving record (CVOR and abstract required)
- Ability to pass a road test, complete online training, and clear a background check
- No criminal record
- Strong English communication skills
- Must have valid work authorization in Canada
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
