Description

Now Hiring: Flatbed Drivers (Morning Shift) from 1191 Eglinton Avenue East Mississauga for RONA.

Compensation Structure:

  1. Travel Time Compensation

    • Revised Policy: Rona flatbed drivers will be compensated for 15 minutes of travel time to or from the United terminal. This is the maximum travel time that will be compensated.

  2. Load Securing Time

    • Roll-Tight Trailers: Up to 45 minutes maximum for load securing.
    • Flatbed Trailers: Up to 90 minutes maximum for load securing, with an additional $25 for tarping the load.

  3. Per-Stop Pay

    • Drivers will receive $27 per stop, with no additional hourly pay provided during stops. The per-stop rate is fixed, regardless of the time taken to complete each delivery.

  4. Hourly Pay

    • No Changes: Your regular hourly pay remains unchanged for trips.

These changes primarily affect travel time compensation, load securing time, and per-stop pay.

Flatbed Driver Responsibilities:

  • Transport Goods Safely – Drive and deliver materials on time, following all safety protocols.
  • Secure Loads – Use chains, straps, and tarps to ensure cargo stability and protection.
  • Inspect Vehicle – Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; report maintenance needs.
  • Route Planning – Choose efficient, truck-accessible routes using GPS.
  • Maintain Documentation – Log hours, mileage, and delivery records accurately.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Follow all transportation laws and hours-of-service rules.
  • Communication – Update dispatch on trip status and coordinate with clients.
  • Assist with Unloading – Help unload cargo as needed upon delivery.
  • Handle Emergencies – Address on-road issues promptly, per company guidelines.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness – Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of AZ driving experience, with a focus on flatbed operations.
    • Valid AZ License with a clean driving record (CVOR and abstract required).
    • Ability to pass a road test, complete online training, and clear a background check.
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and effective communication skills.
    • Strong multi-tasking ability and attention to detail.
    • Able to speak English.
